Alter Bridge "Walk The Sky"

Alter Bridge, a band who have been around for more than fifteen years are

getting ready to drop their sixth studio album "Walk The Sky" on October 18th!

The powerful quartet comprised of Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums.

The album was recorded from the beginning of March through to May 2019. and was recorded differently to the band's earlier record, with vocalist Myles Kennedy and guitarist Mark Tremonti sharing their own song ideas,

which were then molded into shape alongside bassist Brian Marshall and drummer

Scott Phillips. On previous albums, Myles and Mark would combine ideas and riffs

 with producer Michael Baskette.

This album is another addition to their insane music library.

Alter Bridge has a very heavy rock melodic sound, and this album is no exception.

This fourteen track record to me feels like a merging of all of their previous records to make something pretty incredible.

The main thing I love about Alter Bridge is how Kennedy and Tremonti's style combines

to make an insane love child. I think the biggest example of what I mean is

"Forever Falling", Tremonti taking a lead vocal role while Kennedy takes the chorus.

I love how they share the vocals on songs like these, and the riff is a very

identifiable Tremonti riff.

"Native Son" is one I would love to hear them throw into a live

set. So heavy, insane energy and the hard rock driven instrumentals are bound to

be magic during a live set.

My favorite off the record is "Take The Crown", It has everything I love about Alter

Bridge.  Heavy in the right spots, smooth in the right spots, Kennedy just letting

those insane vocals going.

This is one of my favorite releases from them in general, the instrumentals on it

are so solid and tight.

Another one of my favorites is "Indoctrination".

I can not begin to explain how much I love the instrumentals on this.

It has a very early 90s Seattle-sound to it.

It has a heavy creepy feeling.  Tremonti outdid himself with the riff, It's incredible.

All in all this record from beginning to end has an insane rhythmic

flow from start to finish.  I love how much creative structure is behind this.

The band always delivers, but for this record, they seemed to have pushed themselves and it sure paid off.

I feel like if you've been a fan of Alter Bridge from the beginning or if you're

just finding them you're going to love this record.

Be sure to check Walk The Sky when it drops on Oct 18th!
