LAMB OF GOD’s “Making of Redneck,” Out Today, Takes Fans Behind the Scenes of Popular “Redneck” Music Video

Loudwire Partners with Death by Toys to Give Away One-of-a-Kind Handmade Randy Blythe “Redneck”-Inspired Action Figure

Sacrament (15th Anniversary) Set for Digital Reissue on August 20 via Epic

LAMB OF GOD has premiered “Making of Redneck,” a behind the scenes look at the wildly fun 2006 music video for “Redneck” from the Sacrament album. Watch the video HERE.

In conjunction with the 15th anniversary digital reissue of Sacrament, Death by Toys has a produced a handmade Randy Blythe action figured inspired by “Redneck.” The one-of-a-kind handmade figure will go to one lucky Loudwire reader. Enter now at LINK. Winner will be chosen on August 31.

“This was a really fun project for me, and working with the band was such a privilege,” says Death by Toys owner Dan Polydoris.

Death by Toys is a one-man action figure shop specializing in handmade, limited edition collectibles from favorite horror, cult and retro franchises. Each item is made entirely by hand using anything from recycled vintage toys to resin casting to repurposed household items. While the finished products may have the feel and look of a factory-produced toy line, each toy is made, literally, one at a time. Death by Toys offers one-of-a-kind pieces of fan art, as well as small runs of officially licensed figures.

The Randy Blythe figure is made from a variety of toy parts, plus some additional sculpting. In line with the video’s birthday party theme, the package comes complete with party accessories, and the packaging is a nod to Sacrament’s cover art.

“The black/purple design of the album cover is so iconic and has such a distinct feel that I definitely wanted to use it for the cardback,” Polydoris says. “The birthday party from the music video is so ridiculous and over-the-top, and I wanted to capture a little of that in this toy (without getting in the way of the Randy figure). So I included a bunch of birthday party stuff as tiny accessories for him. Plus, the Happy Birthday sign is actually made from a screenshot of the music video.”

The remastered Sacrament (15th Anniversary) will contain the original album tracks, as well as previously unreleased bonus live tracks recorded at House of Vans Chicago in the band’s only live performance of 2020. The album is scheduled for a digital release on August 20, with a vinyl edition slated for early next year. The “Making of Sacrament” feature, originally included on the Walk with Me in Hell DVD, will premiere on YouTube August 20. Watch the trailer here.

Originally released on August 22, 2006, Sacrament debuted at #8 and sold nearly 65,000 copies in its first week. The album spawned the popular track “Redneck,” which brought LAMB OF GOD their first Grammy award nomination for “Best Metal Performance.” The album was certified Gold by the RIAA in September of 2019.

In total, LAMB OF GOD has sold more than 2.5 million albums worldwide and garnered over 400 million streams. The metal giants signed with Epic in 2004 and released Ashes of the Wake shortly thereafter. The album debuted at #27 on the Billboard 200, sold over 35,000 copies in its first week and was eventually certified Gold. Sacrament saw release two years later, followed by Wrath in 2009. Wrath sold over 68,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #3. The album’s lead single, “Ghost Walking,” garnered yet another Grammy nomination for LAMB OF GOD for “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.” 2015’s VII: Sturm und Drang made its debut at #3 and put another Grammy nomination under the group’s belt for “512” in the “Best Metal Performance” category.

After intense touring, LAMB OF GOD finally returned to the studio to record their 2020 self-titled album, which debuted at #1 on the Hard Rock Albums chart and peaked at #2 on the Top Albums chart. Following the expanded re-release of Lamb Of God earlier this year, the quintet is now readying for a co-headline tour with Megadeth on The Metal Tour of the Year, featuring support from Trivium and Hatebreed.
