ABSOLUM RELEASE ‘GRAND DESIGN’ TODAY ON METAL ASSAULT RECORDS
Tearing through the confines a single sub-genre; ABSOLUM bellows with southern aggression and groove on Grand Design. Their debut album, Grand Design is released today on Metal Assault Records and available on digital format, CD. Additionally, exclusive merch bundles are also available to purchase at: absolum.bandcamp.com.
ABSOLUM joined the MAR roster in July 2021. In line with the pattern of many bands currently signed to the label, ABSOLUM is difficult to define within a single sub-genre. Their thick blend of stoner rock and thrash is met with elements of groove and extreme metal while maintaining a distinct Louisiana metal vibe. On Grand Design, ABSOLUM exhibits a broad range of talent across each track while maintaining their distinctly Louisiana metal vibe throughout the album. For a preview of their impressive debut studio album, watch the official music videos for the first two singles below.

Heavy metal reviewers at Destroy//Exist describe the single as “a paradigm of groove metal heaviness, implementing elements of doom, thrash, death and classic heavy metal into an exciting dark blend. Raw, brutal vocals and detailed instrumental grasp give rise to a crushing piece which finds brilliant use for its many constituents and mix of styles."
On Devil’s Corkscrew, DAEMONELIX exhibits a wide range of influences from Black Sabbath to Tool to Clutch to Lamb Of God and everything in between. What has resulted is a remarkable sound that is as unique as it is instantly identifiable. Each track hits the listener hard with elements of doom, death and groove metal, among several other styles and sub-genres along the heavy music spectrum. The album’s tracklist and intriguing cover art are revealed below. The cover art for Devil’s Corkscrew was designed by Romanian artist Mihai Manescu a.k.a. Obsidian Nibs.
