Seattle rockers Thunderpussy have released their new EP "Milk It".
This also marks the first release with new drummer Lindsey Elias.
Following the release of this EP, the band also is already at work
on their second album, the follow-up to their 2018 self-titled release.
The EP starts off with "Powerhouse" which is literally a powerhouse single.
This track features Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith.
The solo on this song stands out for me a lot, I like the complexity and the rhythm of it. Such a solid track with a very Thunderpussy sound to it.
Next up is "Trust A Man" which has a bit of a spooky intro until the smooth instrumentals kick it.
This song gives me a bit of a Fleetwood Mac vibe, like "Gold Dust Woman" kind.
"On The Line" is a soft ballad where I honestly think Molly Sides' vocals are
really showcased. Her effortless attack on every note shows how much control she has. She sounds is incredibly beautiful on every track but I feel like this one is more showcased.
The four-track EP ends on a high note with "Never Know" which, like the "Powerhouse"
this song has every single thing I love.
It has bluesy elements but still keeps that true rock.
This EP as a whole has a true Thunderpussy sound, whether this is your first time
listening or you've been a fan since before their self-titled release you're going to
love it.
I love the music these four women create and I can not wait for the next full-length album.
Thanks for giving me a little taste to keep me satisfied.
