If you've been living under a rock, ZAKK SABBATH is the BLACK SABBATH tribute band featuring guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE), bassist Blasko (OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE) and drummer Joey Castillo (DANZIG, QUEEN OF THE STONE AGE), who have been constantly gigging since 2014 with their take on the Birmingham four's early songs.
A lot of people have been saying this album is a risky move, covering one of the greatest records of all time. I don't see it that way, Wylde has been playing with Ozzy for many years playing most of these songs. Blasko and Castillo are both incredible musicians being able to put their own twist on some classic hits.
The band walked a fine line and did it extremely well recording these songs, doing them a great justice. Most people would consider this a tribute album, but it's still is incredible.
I also think the really cool thing about this is the record won't be found digitally anywhere. Yup that's right you have to go buy it like they did back in the 70's!
As a big vinyl collector myself I will be adding this one to the collection, I am very excited!
