Chip & The Charge Ups - one of the fastest rising bands in the US – today premiered a music video for their single, “I Hope I Never Say That Out Loud.” The timing of this premiere was intended to coincide with Valentine’s Day. But the topic of the song and video is anything but a typical Valentine’s Day theme.
The recurring lyrical motif of the song is “I think I love you, but I hope I never say that out loud.” Lyrics explaining why the song’s protagonist won’t say those three words include “If I misread your clues, my self-esteem would be black and blue” and “If you locked lips on me, would it kill my best fantasy?”
“The song is about the ‘comfortable awkwardness’ of being in the friend zone, the video – complete with subtle imagery commonly seen in early February – provides a new twist for celebrating Valentine’s Day for those who are almost in love, but not quite.” - Vocalist, Chip Dominick (the artist formerly known as Chip DiMonick)
