Claustrofobia shares new single "Corrupted Self" feat. Marc Rizzo
Longstanding Brazilian death / thrash metal trio CLAUSTROFOBIA has signed with Metal Assault Records for a two-album deal. Formed in 1994 by brothers Marcus and Caio D'Angelo, the band boasts of a career spanning nearly three decades, a discography comprising six full-length albums and a DVD release, a multitude of international tours, high-profile live performances sharing stages with the likes of Iron Maiden, Slayer and Anthrax ... and countless fans all over the world.
Now headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, Claustrofobia has completed their seventh full-length studio album. Produced by Adair Daufembach and Claustrofobia, and recorded, mixed and mastered by Adair Daufembach in August 2020 at Northwood Sound Studio in Los Angeles, Unleeched, which will be released by Metal Assault Records on March 11 2022 on digital and physical formats. The album's 2rd single, "Corrupted Self", feat. Marc Rizzo premieres on January 7 along with a lyric video on Decibel Magazine. "'Corrupted Self' rips out of the womb with a sludgy, trudging pace. The band’s founding brothers Marcus D’Angelo (vocals/guitars) and Caio D’Angelo (drums, effects) set the foreboding tone. But a minute into the track, evidence of the band’s ferocious thrash roots surface. Bassist Rafael Yamada’s backing shouts create an element of crossover punk and pack an extra punch of adrenaline. As the song hits a breathless sprint, Marc Rizzo (formerly of Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy) lends some fiery solos to this treatise against political corruption", said Sean Frasier
Pre-orders for the new album, on claustrofobia.bandcamp.com.
"It was great working with Claustrofobia. I have been a big fan of this band for a long time. They are one of the best metal bands out there today and from Brazil", said Marc Rizzo.
"It's an honor to have Marc as a guest on our album, he's a guitar master and spent many years playing alongside Brazilian Metal icons. He knows very well how metal runs in our veins. We've known each other for a few years in Brazil when we played with Soulfly and we've kept in touch ever since. Our last show before the pandemic was with Soulfly in Las Vegas, and that day he offered to do a guest appearance and we were flattered by his attitude. most brutal song on the record", said Marcus D'Angelo.

More about Claustrofobia:
Founded and led by the D’Angelo brothers, fiercely independent since 1994, CLAUSTROFOBIA acts with the same respect and attitude in the dirtiest underground clubs or on today’s biggest stages.
Their unmistakable energy and authenticity has won them countless fans throughout Brazil, South America, Europe and the United States. It is no surprise that they shared the stage with Metal royalty Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, among others.
In 2019, they returned to Brazil for a historic show at Rock in Rio, at the request of Brazilian fans, through a nationwide petition. The band was also invited by Slayer to open for their final show in São Paulo.
"Building a cult is one of those things that’s easy in theory but tough in practice. Or it is, anyway, if you’re not Claustrofobia — a Brazilian death metal-tinged trad-thrash ultra-power trio that will have you head banging your way into the fold via the new Caio D`Angelo-helmed video for the soul-stirring, killer anthem 'Riff Cult'" - Shawn Macomber, Decibel Magazine, December 2020
