Crosson brings back the 80's with "Rock 'N Roll Love Affair"

Sometimes I find records from new to me bands that catch me totally off guard, and these Australian rockers did that. A lot of bands that try to recreate or put their spin on 80’s hair metal do it very forceful to the point that it’s not even 80’s anymore. It has a quality about it that makes it almost comical. However, Crosson does it so seamlessly.

This band is no joke and I don’t know how I have gone this long without listening to them.

“Rock ‘N Roll Love Affair” is a follow up to the success of their acclaimed 2018 album ‘Invincible’, which spent an incredible 10 x consecutive weeks in the Top 30 Official German Rock and Metal Charts and was voted Sleaze’s Nation’s # 2 album of 2018. The album was once mixed by legendary U.S producer Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Poison), mastered by U.S mastering legend Dave Donnelly (Aerosmith, KISS, Whitesnake) , and engineered by Aussie veteran Russell Pilling (The Vines, Hoodoo Gurus, Noiseworks).

This ten track record has some insanely catchy tunes and is a solid 10/10 from beginning to end. “Everyone’s a Star” is a smack you in the face opener with the heart pound drum beats and ripping guitar. “We all Need An Enemy has such a catchy riff and groovy chorus that was Bon Jovi like.

Another track that really stood out for me is “Weak At The Knees (For a Hot Brunette), I think you guys’ just wrote my new anthem. The title track “Rock ‘N Roll Love Affair” is not the cheesy anthem you would’ve expected anyone to go the route of. It has a big Poison feel, and isn’t forcefully over the top.

My instant favorite off the record has to be “Possessed”, It has some real deep vocals, and shows how versatile this record is. It had me singing along right away! This record and Crosson are both added to my playlist, and are here for the long run. Great job to the Rockers from Down Under
