Check out my chat with Mark Wölfe

Emmy: What does unveil the strength mean?

Mark: Persevering, overcoming, making the uncomfortable comfortable. Dig deep, life’s hard wear a helmet.

Emmy: How would you describe your genre to someone who isn't familiar with your music?

Mark: We are a hard rock band with heavy metal tendencies. We like driving riffs, guitar solos, big chorus’s, and crowd chants.

Emmy: How did the band form?

Mark: I started writing songs with a producer. I showed those songs to Matt Snell. I’ve known Matt for a minute but the timing to work together was never there. This time things finally lined up. We then met Matt Guillory, who is a very talented guy, introduced us to Andy James. Andy is an amazing player and his work speaks for himself. You can hear some his work on his new record titled “Arrival”. To round things out Matt recruited a long time friend Tim Hassemer. He is a great player and gives us a solid rhythm section. I think overall it’s great to have a group of guys that have known each other a bit and being a team is a crucial part in reaching goals.

4. What are some of the artists that influence you? I really listen to a lot of different type of vocalists. Bruce Dickenson, Mike Patton, Phill “fucking” Collins, Chris Cornell, Billy Idol, Steve Perry, Phill Anselmo, Peter Gabriel. These people to me are amazing.

Emmy: If you could tour with any artist or band (still active or not) who would it be?

Mark: That’s a tough one. I mean going out with any major 80’s band would probably be pretty outrageous. On the other hand Panthers in the 90’s would have been awesome. I’m not sure my liver would survive any of these choices. Yeah now that I think about it, it’s probably best that my choices can’t come true lol.

Emmy: What is some tour must haves for you?

Mark:  Tacos, Scratch off lottery tickets.

Emmy: What keeps you going on the road?

Mark: Fans fans fans. I really enjoy connecting with people and sharing stories. Memories will always have more value than things.

Emmy: What's your favorite show you've played?

Mark: I like a packed Whiskey show on sunset.

Emmy: What's the future hold for Unveil the Strength?

Mark: We will continue to release music for the record, going to be having some giveaways so follow us on Instagram or at www.unveilthestrength.com,and working on getting some touring. We can’t wait to bring this band to you live in 2020. Cheers and put that shit on 11!
