LoveSick Radio (LSR) brings a distinctive blend of unapologetic rock guitar coupled with pop melodies and a little hip-hop swagger, creating a fresh sound all their own.
LSR has performed at some of the most buzzed about festivals and events such as NHL All-Star Game with Fall Out Boy and O.A.R.; the Changjiang International Music Festival in China, the Vans Warped Tour, and has shared the stage with the likes of the All-American Rejects, Bon Jovi, Dorothy, Bobaflex, Scott Weland of Stone Temple Pilots, Justin Bieber, Blue October, Kid Rock, ,Steel Panther , Three Days Grace, Hinder, Twenty One Pilots, Safety Suit, Paramore, Dead Sara and New Found Glory, to name a few. Additionally, between live shows and writing/recording, the band found time to bring their live energy stage show overseas for tours in China, Japan, South Korea & Singapore.
LSR has received multiple placements on several MTV shows (including a appearance on “My Super Sweet Sixteen”) and MTV2 featured the band as one of its “Bands on the Rise.”
The band hails from Columbus, OH and is made up of David Harris on Lead Guitar, Troy Brown on Lead Vocals, Glenn Viers on Bass Guitar, Matt Bores on Rhythm Guitar, and Matt Seskevics on Drums.
Check out my chat with band below:
1. How did the name come about?
David Harris (Guitarist): A member of the band was going through a break up & mention every time he turns of the radio it sounds like the radio is LoveSick. We looked at each other & said I think that could work.
2. How did the band form?
Troy Brown: (Singer)- It actually started with a song which kinda makes sense as we consider ourselves a “song first” band. David reached out to me to see if I’d be interested on writing to a demo he had, which lead to asking if I wanted to sing on the demo, which lead to asking if I would do a show, which lead to getting us being a band and playing shows around the world so its been quite a process...haha
3. How would you describe your genre to someone who isn't farmiliar with your music?
Troy: I would say we are def a working mans band...”blue collar rock n’ roll on steroids”. Big guitars, big voice with rock and blues infused swagger....no gimmicks...just straightforward with a lot of passion.
4. What are some of the artists that influence you?
David: I love Aerosmith, The Black Crowe’s, AC/DC, The Sex Pistols, Micheal Monroe, The Rolling Stones, Rival Sons, The glorious sons to name a few. I’m a music junkie so I’m always trying to find new music or discover something old I might of missed.
Troy: Everything from Otis Redding and Tom Petty to the new stuff like Rival Sons and The Temperance Movement
5. If you could tour with any artist or band (still active or not) who would it be?
Troy: Today I’d say Springsteen, but that is a question that I would probably have a different answer to everyday.
David: For me Aerosmith would be a dream. That band changed me as a little kid. Their records are part of my DNA.
6. What's your favorite show you've played?
David: Hmm Madison square gardens was pretty massive as far as places you dream about playing as a kid. Still can’t believe we’ve been lucky enough to play some of the places we have.
Troy: My favorite show to date was the first time we played China...just the massive size of the stage and how big the crowd was is a lifelong memory.
7. What's the future hold for Lovesick Radio
David: Lots & lots more music & shows. We are really excited about the new songs we have cooking. We feel we are starting to come into our own. If you want to check out the music or follow us on your go to app here are a few places you can find us.
