Super-Group Nowhere Wolves Set to Release Live Album

Rock "supergroup" Nowhere Wolves (comprised of members of three formerly-active Pittsburgh scene bands) will present the release of their eponymous live album during a performance at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Following the summer 2024 breakup of theatrical rock group Sommelier ("One of the most eclectic bands in the city" - Pittsburgh Music Tracker), singer J. Trafford called upon Candrika Rice (bassist, Lylyth), Everly Ward (guitarist and vocalist, Loose Rhetoric), and EJ Johnson (drums, Bath Time) to form a band to help fulfill previously-arranged Sommelier dates. Through rehearsal and collaboration, Nowhere Wolves was born - the group taking its name from the Howard Devoto-penned Buzzcocks lyric "Breakdown."

Nowhere Wolves made their live debut on July 13 supporting eclectic NYC synthpunks Frenchy and the Punk. A supporting slot for Gogol Bordello-associate Boris and the Joy at Millvale's Poetry Lounge followed on July 23; Nowhere Wolves' raucous second performance on this date was professionally captured by Ryan Dowden of Shellshock Multimedia. Trafford's publishing house Trafford Estate will make Nowhere Wolves' inaugural recording available on high-quality stereo vinyl on Wednesday, November 13.

The vinyl album release Nowhere Wolves will be preceded on September 30 by the digital single release of Wolves' live cover of "Respect" from the July Poetry Lounge show.

The November 13 live release will be marked by a show at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls in Millvale - featuring performances by Nowhere Wolves, Normal Creatures, Samurae, and The Stolen Stitches. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1600612B8B561291
