TZARINA Release Lyric Video For Haunting New Single "Embellished"

Debut LP due out later this year!

Brooklyn alternative metal act TZARINA has released a lyric video for their latest single, "Embellished," taken from their upcoming self-titled debut album and now streaming via all major DSPs.

For singer/guitarist Craig William, drawing lyrical and musical inspiration from old Russian tales and folklore was merely a vehicle for getting to the heart of something much more personal.

"One of the first songs written for the project and one of the band's personal favorites, 'Embellished' doesn't let up from the first splash to the spellbinding outro," says the band. "The song itself is the closing of one chapter in Craig's life and was influential in establishing the band's sound. This is a quintessiential TZARINA track."

Harnessing melodic textures along with a post-rock/hardcore palette of sounds to explore feelings of isolation and contempt, the Brooklyn quartet is as breathtaking as it is constraining. Haunting verse melodies and huge driving, even triumphant choruses embody TZARINA's heavy sound. The poetic and story-driven lyrics are juxtaposed with tapestries of guitar-laden, harmonious consistency but not-at-all bereft of their proficient technicality.

The catalyst for the lineup came when Craig (ex-Wayward City) connected with Mark Ayesh and Michael Forsyth (ex-Vertigo Drift) as their other projects slowed. Upon discovering Robert Abrams amidst the NYC musician circuit, the band hit the ground running until COVID-19 plagued New York in March 2020. As luck would have it, this was neither a deterrent nor a decelerator for TZARINA, everything is in the timing, and the band doubled down by committing to socially distanced studio work right as quarantine became the way of life.

Partnering with producer/engineer Nick Bellmore (Corpsegrinder, Dee Snider), TZARINA poured it all into a record teeming with fervor. Since October 2020, the band has released a handful of singles steadily coordinated towards the impending release of their self-titled debut in early 2022.

In celebration of the new single, TZARINA will perform Sunday, March 6, at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY, alongside fellow post-hardcore stalwarts Endless and The Phantom Eye. Tickets here.
